Darth Vader Cosplay Costume
List the essentials. What is absolutely necessary? Here is a mini list: Darth Vader Helmet, Dark Clothes, Dark Boots, Dark Gloves, and a Cape. These are the bare essentials. More advanced choices for the costume:
Boots and gloves are also a must-have because, once again, the Dark Lord does not go barefoot or barehanded. Motorcycle boots and gloves work extremely well, because they are big, thick, and usually black. Japanese School Uniform
The cape may be the hardest bit, but can relatively simple if you think. If you have a source for capes, use them. But a black sheet of cloth, a thick material preferably, works fine. You don't want it to be too light, because then it will swoosh. Darth Vader does not swoosh.
Armor and padding go hand in hand. These will give you a look of evil, and hugeness. Football armor works nicely, as do just about any sports armor. Vader stood around 6.5 feet tall on a bad day. Armor and padding can be worn on the inside or outside of the costume, but wearing it inside can look cooler.
Add the cape now. Get it sitting just right, and walk around. Get the feel for it right. Full Metal Alchemist Cosplay
Wear a helmet. For the final touch, put on the helmet. adjust it so you can see. Now walk around move your arms. Find you limitations.
Add a box front with buttons or other items stuck to it. This is the control panel. A cardboard box cut down to size and painted black will be perfect and stick on buttons, beads or game pieces to look like the switches. The tops of toothpaste caps work well for this also. Cosplay Costume
Make a mask. A good improvisation is a hoodie with glasses and a safety mask from the hardware store, as in this photo.11Don't smile, because it's not the Sith way. Behind the mask, nobody can tell but don't let the "sound" of the smile escape through your voice.
